Children and Young People's Disability Information Day for Parents, Carers and Families

A special event for parents to find out more about activities and services available for children and young people with disabilites in Stockport takes place on Thursday 11th March 2010.

The free Children and Young People's Disability Information Day for Parents, Carers and Families is at Edgeley Park the home of Stockport County FC and Sale Sharks between 12 noon and 8pm.

At the event, organisations providing activities and services for children and young people with disabilities will inform parents what they do. Parents can also look around the 'market place' and attend workshops on a range of topics including short break activities, behaviour management, parental experiences, and the common assessment framework, amongst others.

The Stockport Children and Young People's Disability Partnership (CYPDisP) will update parents on changes in services, and the progress of the Aiming High for Disabled Children programme.

The event has been organised by the Aiming High Parent's Participation Forum in partnership with the CYPDisP. The Aiming High Project ends in March 2011.
