Paul Jamieson is the ‘Inclusive Services Coordinator’ for Stockport Council.
Although the role is a Stockport Council post, Paul works on behalf of the Disability Partnership.
The role is a strategic post which links with providers, services, and users in order to ensure that disabled children and young people are able to access fully inclusive opportunities in the fields of childcare, play, leisure and culture.
This role aims to identify and remove the barriers to the presence, participation and achievement of disabled children and young people.
From February to April 2008, Paul undertook an informal consultation with a wide range of organisations and individuals from the statutory, voluntary, private and independent sectors, including parents and carers, as well as disabled children and young people.
The consultation aimed to identify some of the issues around inclusion in Stockport.
The results of the consultation can be seen in the ‘Participation, Involvement and Achievement SWOT Analysis’. An Executive Summary of the report can be found on this page, as can an ‘easy-read’ version of the report.
If you would like a copy of the full report, please contact Paul on paul.jamieson@stockport.gov.uk.
Paul is responsible for delivering the contents of the Participation, Involvement and Achievement Action Plan, which will seek to make a significant difference for disabled children and young people in Stockport by making it easier for them to access universal services in childcare, play, leisure and culture. |
