AHDC Commissioning for Short Break Services
Grant Funding Application
As part of the Aiming High for Disabled Children programme, Stockport has received £1.8m to transform short break services between 2008-2011.
The Stockport Short Breaks Project Grant Scheme has been developed to enable Stockport Children and Young People’s Disability Partnership to ensure that the identified short break needs of disabled children and young people within Stockport are sufficiently met, to support the provider market in short breaks for disabled children and young people, and to ensure that all short breaks offered through the Project represent Value for Money.
Previously we have met with providers and parents to develop service specifications with the intention of using them within a tendering process. We have since been advised that it would be more appropriate to develop a grant funding scheme which providers can apply to.
The grant funding scheme is part of the commissioning strategy outlined in the Stockport Short Breaks Strategy, which is based on the Joint Planning and Commissioning Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services. The grant scheme is open to organisations from the statutory, private, voluntary and independent sectors.
A number of documents have been developed to support the grant funding scheme. All these documents are available for download at the right of this page.
As you can see, there are a lot of documents. However, please do not be put off by this, as not all documents are required reading. Some of this information has been made available in order to support the quality planning of short breaks.
Therefore, you do not need to read all documents, although it may help you prepare the strongest possible case for funding if you do so.
We recommend providers read the ‘Stockport Short Breaks Project Commissioning Process – Guidance Notes’ BEFORE reading any other documents. This document will tell you which documents you need to read/complete and which documents are there to offer you additional support.
We will be holding workshops at Beckwith House, Stockport to assist in completing the grant funding applications on:
- Monday 14th December 2pm – 4pm
- Wednesday 16th December 5pm – 7pm
- Thursday 17th December 10am – 12pm
To book on any of the workshops above or if you are having any problems with downloading the documents, or would like paper copies of all documents, please contact Glenis Hall on 0161 249 4425 or e-mail glenis.hall@stockport.gov.uk
