A service providing assessment, diagnosis, advice and treatment for children with a range of speech, language and communication needs. Treatment may be offered on an individual or group basis.
Who is this service for?
This service is for children up to the age of 16 years (19 years if they have a learning disability and are in special education). |

How to request the service
- To refer to Speech and Language Therapy professionals must use a form called a Common Assessment Framework (CAF).
- Referrals can only be accepted on a CAF form and those not on a CAF will be returned to the referrer with instruction to complete a CAF .
- Referrals are accepted from parents, GPs, Health Visitors, Schools and other professionals providing parent has given permission.
- For professionals completing a CAF as a referral to request services from the partnership please send to: Children and Young People’s Disability Partnership, c/o 8th Floor, Regent House, Heaton Lane, Stockport SK4 1BS
- If the child meets the access criteria they will be taken onto the caseload. In broad terms the access criteria is that children who have severe difficulties or those with specific language impairment will be taken onto the caseload.
When is the service available?
The service is provided within normal working hours, 9.00am - 4.30pm. Although some parent training courses are running in evenings. |
